Spider Bite -- ReVisited

Hello my Friends, I hope that you all had a great Holiday Season! I sure did.

But now it is time to get back to the adventure of Exploring." Where would be a good place to start? " I asked myself. And the answer was easy. I would start out revisiting the jungle where I got my spider bite. So heeding the advice from Dr. Goodbar, I apply my protection (bug spray) and off I go !

I return to the place where I was bitten by that small little spider. This is a beautiful place.

I made my way through the thick jungle underbrush.

The tree trunks and roots are so massive ! They dwarf everything around them.

Looking out over the jungle canopy, I notice a stone 'structure' below. Come to think of it, where did the paths in the jungle come from ???

I made my way down through the jungle and found an old wooden bridge. It may be old, but it seems like it is still in use. Hmmmm I wonder by Who?

Again I looked out over the Canopy, and this time, I spied a very large stone structure ! Maybe the people who made the paths and bridge are the ones responsible for the structure.

I made my way through the jungle, closer to the stone structure, and I found this small area of buildings. The water was running, the fire was burning... but no one is home !

Making my way through the jungle, I finally come up closer to the stone structure. It appears to be a temple of some kind...

A BIG temple at that. Bigger than I had imagined.

Suddenly, I feel small. But not only that, but I get the nagging feeling that there are a hundred eyes upon me. Just where are all the people??

Well, I know better than to explore further without proper preparation, so I will call this leg of the adventure Over for now... but be sure that I will return here to explore more !

Paradise Beach

Hello my friends !

Yes, I know I have been absent in my posts as of late; but I have been working a lot of hours recently. I'm assuming the economy is picking up again! But, I have taken some time for myself and went to the beach to chill out for a while. I was a much needed break!

And living in the land of Snow and Ice in the REAL WORD (Minnesota) the beach was a very inviting place for me to go ! I had to do my Corona Beer commercial picture !

LOL ! Now just where did I put my Lime ?

I had a lot of fun jet skiing ! I found that I became a speed demon of sorts when I was on the jet ski !

The beach was so pretty to look at from out in the ocean a way... It looked like one of those post cards your friends would send you when they were on vacation !

I also spent some time looking out over the ocean, just relaxing... and I was treated to a surprise!

If you look real carefully... you can see an Orca (killer whale) which just jumped out of the water. Very cool !!

And what great trip to the beach doesn't include a drink from a coconut shell with a little umbrella in it ? YUMMMMM!

I doubt I will be back posting here until after the Christmas Holiday... So I want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas. Peace, Love and Joy to all of you !

Hello my Friends!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving Holiday!!

I spent some time with family, friends and lots of food. I had to go work off some of my Holiday dinner by dancing !!

I went back to my favorite place, Sherie's Gaslight.

And of course, my favorite SL performer was there, Skylord Carnell.

If you haven't had a chance to check out Skylord, or even Sherie's Gaslight, I highly urge that you do. It will be one of your best times on Second Life !

Lots of cool people to meet there, and a lot of good music.

I am sure that I will be there again soon. I do hope to see you there !

Spider Bite

Hello my Friends, sorry I haven't posted anything for a while, but you see, I have been ill for a while. Let me tell you what has happened...

I went for a nice walk thru the jungle one day. I hadn't been to the rainforest in so long that I thought a little time in the jungle would be a good thing for my spirit !

So I was walking down this path, checking out all the beautiful flowers. The smells were incredible !! When Suddenly......

ARG~ That hurts !!! A bug or something had bitten me, and I fell to my knees in pain !!!

It was only moments later I fell flat in the middle of the path.

I had no idea how long I laid there unconscious, but when I awoke, I found a grassy spot and I sat down to assess my injury. Nothing looked bad, but I felt a little sick, so I called it a day and went home.

When I got home I went right to bed. I didn't know if it was from the bug bite, or from the heat and humidity that was making me feel ill, but I knew a little sleep would do wonders for me.

The glow of the fireplace helped me fall fast a sleep.

But in the Middle of the night, I really started to feel ill, I felt feverish and my skin felt like it was burning !

My morning I was very sick. My skin not only burned, but it had turned a Bright Red !! I was in Pain. I knew I needed the best doctor I could find. So using my Clearance, I called up Starfleet Medical. They told me to come in immediately.

I beamed right into SickBay. There I met the head of the infectious diseases department, Dr. Goodbar.

"Welcome to Starfleet Sick Bay, Bleu. Let me take a look at you!"

"Please sit up on my diagnostic table"

I sat upon the table, my skin burning and now itching uncontrollably. I was going crazy from the burn and itch. "do something for me Doctor!!"

"According to these scans Bleu, you have been bitten by a rare Cayenne Spider. As you can see here on the display, your skin cells are producing a reddish pigment and your nerve receptors are going into overdrive."

"Please lay down on my treatment table and I will take care of you..."

I tried to lay down, but the pain was getting unbearable. I couldn't sit still.

Dr. Goodbar then placed me into stasis so he could treat my affliction.

I have no idea how long I was unconscious... but when I awoke, the pain was gone and my skin had returned to its original color.

"Thank-You Dr. Goodbar! I feel so much better. How long was I out? "

"Beleive it or not Bleu, but you were unconscious for over a week. It took me that long to get the toxins out of your system and for your skin to repair its self."

"Remember Bleu, always use Protection. You never know what kind of bugs you can get!"

SOLITUDE

Recently, I took a trip above the Artic Circle, where I came across this incredible ice crystal mountain coming up from the sea.

It was huge, yet it was so beautiful in its simplicity. I had to walk closer and get a better look at it.

It appeared to have a path going around it, so I decided to follow it. Again the ice crystals were huge, yet they all seemed so delicate.

I found an opening in the ice crystal structure so I followed it inward.

Again it was beautiful. The light thru the ice had a calming blue hue to it. It was dead silence. The only thing I could hear was the snow crunching beneath my feet. When suddenly the little ice passage way opened up into a huge chamber. At the end to of the passage, there seemed to be a ledge that stuck out, allowing you to see the whole cavern.

It almost appeared to have a control panel made completely of ice. Incredible !

Like any good Explorer, I had to touch the crystals. They didn't appear to just be a random act of nature.

Suddenly, a great voice echoed out. There before me, was a face that was suspended in mid air.

It spoke to me:

"Bleu Titanium. Welcome to the Fortress of Solitude." the face said to me.

[Holy Crap! I thought, is this Jor-El ?]

As if it read my mind, the face spoke to me again:

"Yes, Bleu, I am JOR-EL. You have discovered this Fortress of Solitude I have constructed for my son Kal-El."

I was amazed. I stumbled upon Superman's hide-a-way. But then I thought about what I knew about the fortress, and the defenses this place had to keep out intruders, accidental and otherwise. Suddenly I was afraid.

Again, as if reading my mind, Jor-El spoke again.

"You do not belong here Bleu. Yet I sensed that you are pure of heart, only searching for knowledge and adventure. So I allowed you to enter this chamber." "Within these walls, are the secrets of the universe. All the knowledge learned by the people of Krypton. Being of pure heart, I shall impart to you one piece of knowledge, Bleu."

[again I thought, Holy Crap! But before I could ask a question, Jor-El spoke]

"Knowledge of one's self is the most powerful thing you can imagine. Always look inside yourself for the answers that you seek. When you know yourself knowing others becomes second nature." With those words, Jor-El disappeared into the nothingness. Leaving me standing alone in the stillness of the cavern.

My thoughts raced. But my mind came to rest upon Jor-El's words. In a sudden leap of understanding I thought....

"Holy Hannah!! They're Scientologists!

Whew! What a Dream! Alright, No more eating pastrami and mustard sandwiches before bed !!

Falling through the air at what seems like 100's of miles per hour doesn't sound like a lot of fun, until you realize that this has been a life long dream of mine!
SKYDIVING !
There is something about the rush of air through your hair and against your skin that takes your breath away! A total adrenaline rush

You do have to maintain control of yourself both mentally and physically. You must have the right form too, or you will go plummeting out of control until you reach the ground.

** We don't want to think about that !!

The ground comes up really fast on you. It really is a birds eye view on the world.

Quickly, specks become buildings and cars. What appears to be ants become people.

Then with the pull of the rip cord, your chute opens and you are pulled back upwards for a while.

Then gently gliding down. Seeing the world from Thousands of feet up, you really get an appreciation of just HOW BIG our world can be.

We really are nothing more than specks on this world. Amazing how we specks can sometimes really mess up this world.

SkyDiving has been a life long dream of mine. I am no longer able to have the opportunity to do this, but to experience it in SL has brought me a little closer to that unattainable dream !!

Hello my friends !

No, I haven't been lost. I haven't been out exploring. I haven't been doing much of anything as of late.

The RL has taken a lot of my time as of late so I just haven't had the chance to be around much. But now, things are getting back to normal and I look forward to returning to SL more often and having some cool adventures !!

You guessed it, I've been out dancing ! I think I have told you before, but I fhave come to love Sherie's Gaslight. Its a great place, and great people too!

Of course, two of my favorite performers were there last night...

I always have a good time there. If you haven't checked Sherie's Gaslight out, I urge you to! Classic songs, humor and just plain ol' good times.

I love meeting new people, making new friends, so say hello when you see me! Maybe you can join me there for a dance or two !!!

Elwood's Visit

Well, it was a busy day. I bought some plants and got them in place. My RL Mother likes roses and she tries so hard to grow her own... so as a tribute to her, I had to get some Roses. The Blue Rose bush is a nod to my RL sister as well.

Then, I was almost finished with getting my Roses inplace and rezzing my hammock and trees when my friend Elwood stopped by for a visit! It's always good to see Elwood ! He has been so kind to me and he has taught me so much!!

He told me about creating 'boards' so I can add textures to them and make them like Paintings.

What a cool idea !!

With Elwoods help, I ended up making two of my favorite paintings, and I have them Proudly displayed, so I can see them all the time.

I sooooo love VanGogh's Starry Night. There is something about that painting that speaks to me. The other painting I love is one that is called SHATTERED, by the Krayel Art Studio. I wish you could see it better in this picture, but the shattered look of the painting and the sparkle/tear in his eye really says something to me.

Elwood also spoke to me of a SL singer/Song Writer called Niko Domburi. Wow. I have to say, from what I have heard so far... he really is good.

Now that I have my house in pretty much order... I feel another adventure coming on. I am thinking I need some "adventure" clothing first tho. Stop back again to see where I ended up exploring !!!

LandScaping

Well, after living a few days in my new home, I realize I really need some plants in my yard to make it feel more "homey"

As you can see, my lot is pretty bare.

So I did what any good homeowner in SL would do, and I went shopping for Plants !

I stopped at a great place called the Bliss Garden Center. They have some great plants there.

Plus a whole lot more than just plants !! They have Rocks and waterfalls and whole landscaping supplies. I'm just concentrating on simple plants tho...

I love all the different designs !

So many things to choose from !

Home Again

Well I made it HOME AGAIN. LOL

After alot of searching SL, I came upon a region that I think will be an alright neighborhood.

Its flat, room to expand and a seemingly nice neighbor (Whom I haven't met personally yet)
Here is the outside of my new home... Its a small cottage, but I really don't need all that much room.

Come inside and take a look.

I totally love the fireplace, and the rug allows me to do yoga and meditate.

And I have a nice sitting area where I can read or just sit still and relax. So I really like my new home.

For Sale.... SOLD !

Its been a busy week here. Getting my house all in order and thinking about buying the parcel of land next to mine. But when I went to check out the land one more time before I purchased it, the land had been SOLD! Within a day, all the land that surrounded my property had been sold and it was starting to be developed.

Now its not that I dislike neighbors or development, it was just that I really wanted a bigger parcel of land. So, I put my land up for sale.

With in an hour it was sold. So now I am "homeless" again.

I have been out scouting properties again, and I think I found one that I really like. Room to develop too. I will probably buy two 512 SqM Lots right away !!

Later, I put on my Tux and I went out to Sherie's GasLight again. They were playing some classic musical oldies. I really enjoyed the sound... but I totally forgot as to who was the Performer. Duh!

As I said, I really enjoy the GasLight. Just a nice place, nice people and good music.

I am always amazed at all the other Avatars. People are so creative !!

I want to go back tonight as Camlach Gans will be playing again !

I beleive that he will be playing Indian Flutes tonight. That should be very interesting.

Tonight I decided to go out and listen to some live music. After checking out all the listings, I decided on Sheries Gaslight.

It was live music in a fun setting. Lots of people too. Actually I was surprised at the number of people there !

I danced a little...

I talked to a couple people....

I enjoyed the music....

I had to have my Martini.... (difficult to see in this picture, but its there if you look close!)

But the Live Music was the best.

The Performer was Camlach Gans. I have to say he was entertaining. Good Music and a healthy dose of laughter. Camlach has a duck that he talks to on stage. ! Too funny.

He was a good performer, and I will definitely come back next Tuesday night to hear him again! I hope you will give the GASLIGHT a check too. >Streams@ 24,122,26<>

Land Owner

In my search for Real Estate here in SL, I donned on my best business atire and got to work checking out Land and I finally settled on a little peice of property that I can call my own.

The little peice of land I have purchased, which I think was a pretty good deal at $L 1,017 for a 512 SqM. The most you can have without paying "taxes" to LindenLabs. LOL I now own the parcel between the two white trees. I am the black speck standing at my property line.

I am learning a lot of things about Land Ownership. One of the biggest lessons to learn is how to manage the number of PRIMS you have on you Land. A Prim is short for Primitive object. Basicly everything thing in SL is made up of Prims. Some objects are made from one or two Prims, others made from many Prims. So you must keep in mind how many prims you have on your lot and what your lot can handle.

So my lot can sustain 117 Prims.

Even with my meger furnishings. I am already up to 65 Prims.

Some objects that look small, can be complicated and have many Prims, such as my two books. The War of the Worlds is actually a full book that you can click on and read ! Myst is just a book that is styled after a Linking book from the story and game. I just wish it actually worked ! LOL

This will be a fun time getting the house in order and trying to do something with the "yard" and keeping within my 117 prim limit. But you know what. Its nice owning your own land. Its nice to have a place you can call home.

LAND HO !!!

Land. The Ownership of Land has been Men's Dream for many many years.

So, now that I have been in SL for some time now... I too find that I want my own peice of Land. A place to call MINE. A place to call HOME.

So, I have been out searching for LAND.

And I have learned a few things about LAND in SL. Let me tell you what I have learned ! The people here at SL are clever. Clever indeed ! I wondered where they made their money.... and I now know its from LAND ! And there is different types of Land. Private Estates (which are usually Islands) ... and the MAINLAND. The MainLand is Governed under the Rules of Governer Linden, Private Estates are Governed under the Land Owner. MainLand Land is much cheaper... so that is where I am Looking.

SO First off, a person needs a "Premium" accout in order to own land. That costs you. Then you only get a small parcel of land "free" 512 Sq Meters (512 SqM). And its not FREE at all... its free in the sense that you don't have any Maintence Charges for that amount of land. But the More Land you own, the more you are charged Monthly (Land Tier Rates)... and that is on top of the Purchase Price of such land you own.

So, like any good Consumer, I have been looking at land. I looked everywhere.

I found rocky undeveloped land and Grassy Land, but there are several trendy things there that

make the Land Expensive too. I am surprised at the cost of Land on the MainLand. ** The MainLand is Governed by LINDEN and all their rules come into play. EstateLand are more like Private Islands and for me, the cost is way too Prohibitive! So all my searching has been done on MainLand.

So, I have found THREE Parcels of Land I am Thinking Seriously of Purchasing. Each are the Maximum size of 512 SqM as not to raise my Premium Level Costs.

The First I like is at Bla Bheinn 69,79,21 $L 3584 Purchase Price = $L7.00 SqM

Beach Front Property ... with room to grow if I so decide.

The Second I like is at Cotis 196,149,106 $L 2849 Purchase Price = $L5.66 SqM

Again, available lots For Sale all around. I could expand if I so desire. (that is if someone doesn't buy the lots first)

And the Last one I like is Grossglockner 217,117,40 $L1017 Purchase Price = $L2.0 SqM

Again, Room to grow. FYI: Each lot only has ONE Tree on it. In this Pic, there are 4 lots for sale.

So Many Choices. Each one has its own Pros and Cons. I love the Beach... but I also Love the low price... and the room for Expansion if I may decide that. So, what to chose, what to chose...

Staff of Ezron

In an ancient text, I found the story of Ezron, a great warrior whose spirit was trapped by an evil lord inside a crystal. It is said he haunts a castle, waiting to be set free...

So I studied the map, to find where these haunted ruins lay.

The gateway to the ruins was to be found in a Stonehenge type structure.

When I stepped thru the doorway, I was instantly transported to the ruins of the castle.

Now, I'm not scared of heights, but that is a long ways down, and that is where I need to be .

The lions' mouths spewed out lava and foul gases

It took some searching, but I Found the entrance to the crypt protected by shadowy statues.

There, inside the crypt was the spirit of Ezron.

I took his staff which held the crystal that imprisioned Ezron.

The only way to distroy the crystal is to throw it into the scared pool that held the flames of Hades.

I had to get closer to the to the pool so I could throw the staff and crystal into the flames.

Once done, I raced back to the crypt.

At the crypt, I found that Ezron's Spirit had indeed been set free...

I heard a whisper of a voice, thanking me for freeing him.

I made my way back to the strange pad where I had first arrived, and I was instantly transported back home. Safe and Sound.

I'm Exhausted, but I look forward to my Next adventure. I hope you can come along with me next time and share in my Exploits !!

Time Out

With our busy lives here, shopping, dancing and partying, sometimes we forget to stop and just relax a bit. Our Lives in the RL can be very hectic, so we should at least take the time to enjoy our lives here in SL.

The following are some of my favorite places to unwind from a day of exploring SL.

Everyone knows how much I love the beaches here in SL. But I also love the sunsets. I love the sunsets in RL as well. Just something magical during that time between day and night that is relaxing to me.

I've kicked back upon fur skin rugs ( synthetic fur, no SL animals were hurt in the productions of said skins) and campfires have always been a favorite as well.

I've wasted away in Margarita - ville...

...and I have just sat back and enjoyed listening to the peaceful sounds that some of the locations have to offer.

**TIP** Make sure you have your sound enabled. Many locations not only play ambiance sounds, but many do play very peaceful music as well.

There are many beautiful gardens to explore. I am always amazed at the level of detail people put into their creations. Wonderful !

But not only are there relaxing gardens, but there are beautiful old houses and castles to explore. I love to just sit back in front of a fireplace and enjoy the peacefulness. Not to mention the rich detail of the mahogony fireplace.

I've spent many peaceful moments just sitting and enjoying the enviroment around me. The sounds and music is a perfect escape for me.

One last important thing to mention, is not only taking time to relax and appreciate the world around you, its important to get a good night's rest as well. So with that, I bid you all a Good Night.

Outfits

Been working on learning things again. Been playing in some of the SANDBOXES. I've learned to do simple shapes and textures.

I've also recreated my "outfits" so I can change clothing quickly, yet still have the same appearence. It was difficult before, I was always re-adding hair or something.

** TIP** Just put on the clothing that you want on, go to the appearence editor, click on MAKE OUTFIT.... check everything off that you want added, Make an outfit name, and then Save. You will then get a folder in your clothing folder, with the name of your outfit and all the clothing attached to it ! SWEET !

Also thinking about Renting an apartment for a couple weeks to see if I like "owning" something.

I figure that if Renting works out... I would then buy a peice of land !

Elwood has some apartments that I like, and they are near his castle. So I just might have to contact him and rent one out !!

I am hoping that this weekend I can get out and have some FUN here. Still many places I want to get back to and explore more !

Since today marks the Two Week mark since I have been here on Second Life, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about my evolution as an avatar.

Pictured here, is my first picture as ME on Second Life. It is the default avatar that I started out with. I only changed the T-shirt from the default.

As you have noticed thru the blog so far, I have had many different clothes, and along the way a few different looks.

I have come upon a little older / more mature look for myself. At this point on SL, I find it a little more 'comfortable' to portray myself as what I look like in RL than to be some young guy that doesn't have any connection to myself. I gotta admit, the younger look is a Hottie!! Wish I was half that sexy when I was younger ! LOL But I like the more mature, wise look I have now. But not to worry, if I get the urge to party all night with the boys, I can easily revert back to my younger self !! LOL

Avatars are easily changed to reflect your personality, that inner desire to be someone, something that you cannot express in Real Life, for one reason or another. I have seen Young Guys with muscles on top of muscles, Girls with breasts the size of watermelons! Ninjas, Neko's, a green Merman, vampires and cartoonish charactors.

It took me a while to figure out how to change my looks. There is a difference between SHAPES and SKINS. I didn't understand that at first. A SHAPE, is the shape of your body, or hair. Some of these shapes you can alter in the Editor, some of them have a NO MODIFY lock on them, and then you cannot change anything on them. I have found that a lot of the FREE shapes here cannot be modified. They usually are from designers who are trying to drum up business for their stores. A SKIN, is that which goes over the Shape. They can be of different colors or textures. I have seen Green people, Purple people, Goth people. Sometimes skins and shapes do not mesh well together, and you end up having to change on or the other.... There are some great video tutorials on the SL website. I urge you to check them out !!!

I am looking for a New Hair Style. I don't really have a Mop Top like my Avatar has, so I have found a a couple hair styles that come close to "me". Tell me what you think looks best...

Yes, I made it to PARIS ! So to do Paris in Style, I had to put on my best Tux and go out on the town !!

I took the elevator, you didn't think I was going to walk up all those stairs in Those Shoes ?!!?

Made it then to the Arc de Triumphe ! The sun was just beginning to rise !! Beautiful !!

Don't worry, I had no thoughts of jumping off !!

I made it to Church (it was Sunday afterall) by horse drawn Carriage.

The Awe and Beauty of it all was breathtaking !!

** Please note not only the Beauty of this... but also the detail in the shadows and richness of colors. This is why I have come to Enjoy SL so much !!

No Trip to Paris would be complete with out a visit to the Moulin Rouge !!

My thoughts instantly go to the Movie with Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor ! LOL

Not the place of debauchery as depicted in the movie !!

Back Home Blogging about my Wonderful trip to Paris !
There are a few comments I wish to make.

First:: Second Life is an awesome place to explore. Whatever you wish to find is probably here. All you have to do if find the SEARCH box and type in that which you are looking for.

Paris...Star Trek... Hang Gliding, Whatever. The in "game" browser will open up and give you many choices.

Secondly:: I feel that one of the best ways to Explore a place here in SL is to find a friend, and explore together. Next best thing to being there.

Thirdly:: Taking pictures here in SL isn't that difficult. The real trick is to a) have good lighting. You can Force the sun to rise or the stars to come out, from the World Tab, and then Enviroment. b) To save yourself space in your Inventory and some L$$ I would advise you to save your pictures to your hard drive unless it is a picture you want to share with others here in SL.

Basics 2.0

Hello my readers. Again, not much travelling, but a lot more Learnin' !

I have been reading all the tutorials on the Second Life web page. There are alot of good videos there to show you HOW do do the basics.

I have learned how to keep my Inventory organized. How to create LandMarks, clothing sets and more, all at a click of my mouse button.

I urge you to go to the S L webpage and check it out even if you have been here for a long time. There are many simple tips there that just make Life easier.

Soon, I Hope to buy some land and make a HOME there.

I also have discovered a Operator's Error in my blog. Some people have been unable to post comments... it turns out that I had my settings set really tight and so many of you have been unable to post your thoughts. That should be corrected now, and so now I look forward to hearing from all of you !!

Captian's Log:

I arrived on the Enterprise's transporter pad with out incident. Which is not uncommon since after the invention of the Heisenberg compensator, it all but eliminated Transporter accidents.

I then beamed up my friend Ambassador Cmdr. KeeKat from the planet Neko.

We are doing a walk through of the Enterprise today.

One of the first stops is the Warp Core in the Engine room.

Will this thing excel to warp 7 ?? Looks to me like the Dilithium Crystals are De-Crystalizing !!

What is the Status of the Engines ??

Chief Engineer Cmdr. Nikki has the Engine Room Ship - Shape !

We are in good hands...

A trip to the Enterprise wouldn't be complete with out a trip to the Holodeck !!

The Holodeck can make things appear so real. I almost started to believe I was a Borg.

We'd better get on with our inspection of the Enterprise.

The Computer Core is an essential part of the Enterprise. I was told NOT to touch any of the pretty flashing buttons ! Damn !!

On ward to the Bridge !

Just because I am a Captian... it doesn't mean I know how to drive this thing !!!!

SandBox

Well, I was still practicing changing my appearance. Height, weight, etc... I went back to my Friend Elwood's place so I could use his garden again to unbox a few items I had in my inventory. LOL You know... that just wouldn't work in RL. Using your Neighbor's garden to change your clothes in ! LOL LOL

Anyways.. I was there changing and who happens to appear?? KeeKat ! :o)
He told me of places called SandBoxes where I could "play". I instantly saw the irony in that... a Cat telling me about a sandbox! LOL (no offense Kee!) He took me to one and showed me several very cool things.
A sandbox is where people go to learn and practice how to make THINGS here in SL. In the picture above... behind Kee and I, you will see a Flying Fish !! You can experiment with all kinds of things here. The biggest lesson Kee taught me was about Gestures. I now can do a BackFlip ! Woo Hoo... I surely cannot do that in RL ! But Gestures are another way to express yourself without having to TYPE/MESSAGE. Very cool.

I so enjoyed learning from Kee. He truely is a nice person. I was very pleased to meet his partner William!! (not to be confused with William and DarrenJames) William seems like a nice guy too. Sounds like he knows a lot about how SL works.

So, I have been playing a bit in the Sandbox. Trying out some new appearances. So far, what I have tried out, I haven't liked. I am learning about Shapes and Skins for my Avatar. So far, everything I have unboxed and tried on has been way too "big". I am not a big person in the RL, so to have a very tall/big Avatar just doesn't seem to reflect me. So, I will keep trying. But in all my unboxing, I have come across some cool clothing... so you can look forward to seeing me in different clothes !

For those of you who wanted to see me relax someplace other than the Beach... I did find this nice little ocean view. In a way, it reminds me of the hill top views that one can see of Lake Superior. You could almost smell the air and feel the mist upon your face.
This too was a very relaxing spot !

I will have to post several other places I have been. Like the StarTrek Museum, Ancient Egypt, Bohemia, Germany. I do need to make a date to get myself over to the Eiffel Tower!!

Basics

Not much Travelling here lately, I have been trying to learn the BASICS here. Such as building objects, editing my avatar. Learning the basic rules that govern SL. Such as a DAY in SL lasts 3 RL hours and NIGHT is one RL hour. So in a given RL day, there would be SIX SL days.
Its these little things that make SL interesting. Places change so much from DAY to Twilight, to NIGHT. Sunsets, warm tones, Evenings skies. All so Real.
There are also little things here to learn, like cleaning up after yourself. So when you are Experimenting, such as making objects, or picking up and dropping objects.. you need to either put them back into your inventory or delete them, so they are not messing up someone Else's property. It makes for smoother play for every one.

I went to visit my friend Elwood at his home: Abernathy Castle. But alas, he wasn't home.

But I did spend some time in his garden and I worked on changing my Appearance. I have found how to unpack some of the items I have purchased, so I was changing in his garden ! LOL Hmmmm hope that doesn't make me some sort of sick-o LOL LOL As you can tell by this picture, I didn't like any of the changes, thus, I still look the same.

I did find a another place where I could just sit and do some Reading about SL. Honestly, I never thought this world was so complex. I look forward to spending time learning, getting to know people and just enjoying the beauty of it all.
I did stop in and say HELLO to William and DarrenJames. Nice guys. Always make me feel welcome. They have been an endless source of information and Links !!

Wonders

Will wonders never cease here? I hope not.
Not only the beautiful scenery here, but the beautiful people as well. I don't mean as in Physical beauty, but as in truly genuine nice people.
Today I ran into my friend Elwood. He was one of the first people I met here in SL. He took me to his "HOME" here in second life and I was soooo amazed. Awesome. I loved some of his art work he has on his walls.
Elwood also introduced me to his friend Kee.
Kee is what is referred to as a NEKO.
That would be a Human and Cat hybrid.
Another genuinely nice person here. Again, SL is about expressing your own personality here. No boundaries.
And everyone accepts you for who you are, not what you look like. RL should be be so accepting.
Kee and I spent some time together. He showed me several sites where I could buy items to upgrade my Avatar. While I like my "looks" here, I would like to Tweak them a bit to reflect more of my personality. The Avatar I have created is from the DEFAULT avatars and I am unable to change many of the looks.
Kee also gave me the ability to HUG people. Since I am a Hugger in RL, this is something that I Will be using !! Many of the gestures that are used here, such as hugging, are not included with your Default Avatar, so to get the Hugging gesture was a very nice gift !!

I've also have found a really cool Garden Center. A place that not only is full of plants to buy for your Home here, but its also a beautiful island full of plants and waterfalls. This is something I will have to explore more and get back to you on. From first glances, I think it will be one of those peaceful places just to sit and meditate.
I think you will find me visiting here more often.

Hello my friends!

Been travelling around and learning a lot here in SL. I find that my favorite places so far have been the Beaches. As mentioned in a previous post, in the RL, I live in Minnesota, the land of snow and ice ! LOL. We don't have much for beaches here, so I guess I gravitate to them. But as Requested, I will try to find other cool hangouts.

I was on Paradise beach, and I met up with a really cool guy. Ziad. I have to be honest and say that I didn't put him on my contacts list. I just forgot. But he gifted me with a really cool Friendship Necklace. It was very nice of him. I gotta remember to try to add people when I meet them !!

Well, I have learned something since my last post. I finally figured out HOW to unbox items. People here have been giving me a hard time about not wearing shoes. So, I finally went out and bought a pair of sandels. My problem was, I couldn't figure out how to get them out of the "BOX" and onto my feet. Well, as the old saying goes... when in doubt, read the Directions. LOL So I went to XStreet help, and lo and behold, there were the instructions for unboxing items that you have purchased.

So now, I hope I won't hear any more about getting blisters on my feet from all the walking ! LOL

Lessons

Well, today I met up with another friend from SL, Cedrick.

He took me to ... damn, I forgot the name, but I will call it HOBO land. LOL It's kind of a tongue and cheek sort of place. A hobo village. I Laughed at the Hobo house... a large cut out cardboard box ! Pictured here, we are sitting in front of a fire, which appeared to be made up all kinds of discarded items !

Cedrick imparted some valuable lessons. One, Keep your inventory Clean and Organized. When I really looked at mine, it was a sad sight. So, I have some organizing and cleaning to do. Its easy to let your Inventory get away from you... People sending you things, you buy things, accepting landmarks and freebies... It makes for a huge mess if you don't stay on top of it.

The second piece of wisdom he imparted was, be aware of other people's feelings here. After all, this is more than a game. There is a REAL PERSON behind the Avatar you are interacting with. So real, thoughts and emotions come into play. Both very good lessons I hope I have learned, and will abide by.

I also "teleported" around SL for a while... I actually found a place that serves a good Martini.

I only wish they would serve them with a few more Olives !!!

One last tidbit here. Xstreet is an "offworld" website that is connected to Second Life. There you can also buy just about anything. Instead of shopping through out Second Life, you can log onto Xstreet and do searches for the items that you would like to own. Then you pay for them just like you do in Second Life. (LindenDollars)

So I believe that there will be a little shopping in my future !

A couple days ago, I met William. A very nice guy who said he lived in the Jungle. Well, to be honest, I didn't know what he really meant. Well, today he invited me to his home in the jungle and to meet his partner. OMG ! I can't decide if it is more like the Swiss Family Robinson, or the Ewok village from Star Wars ! At any rate it was awesome. A home high in the tree tops on a beautiful island, surrounded with good friends. Doesn't sound bad at all !!

I did some exploring of their home. Wow. I had to say I got to feel a bit like Tarzan when I climbed down the vine !!

A wonderful place to explore !

Will and his partner DJ then invited me to join them dancing at a club called Blaze. So later that evening I caught up with them there ! I learned a few things. One, how to dance here in SL, Two how to "hear" music here. (just turn on the button! duh!)

In this pic, I am in the Blue, Will has the red hair and DJ is a little hidden but he has on the armbands.

Once I get moving, I can Shake it ! LOL

I gotta admit to just getting carried away. In the RL you would never see me dancing... not to mention dancing with out my shirt on.

I now am beginning to understand what some people have told me about SL. You can be who you want to be.

Its not about living a fantasy, but its expressing some of your inner desires that for some reason, you just don't get the opportunity to do so in the RL.

Sun, Sand and Sea

Today I ventured out and I went to a wonderful place in Second Life.

[henceforth Second Life will be referred to as SL and Real Life referred to as RL]

I went to Paradise Beach. But first I had to go shopping for a swimsuit !! Went to a "place" called Ocean View Land, and went to Yang's SexySport. Yeah.. what can I say? I find that things here in SL all have some sort of "sexy" name.

Anyways, Paradise Beach was awesome. Coming from Minnesota; Sun, Sand and Sea is something that I don't get to see that often, so to spend time sitting on the beach in the sun drinking a glass of lemonade while the waves were washing up on the shore... it was so relaxing.

But I also wanted to try Hang Gliding. Now that was fun too. A bird's eye view of everything. Sometimes it was tricky to control the glider, but I think I did pretty good for my first try.

Let me know if there is someplace you would like me to visit, and I will try and post my adventures here !

In the Beginning...

Hello, My name is Bleu. Bleu Titanium and welcome to my Second Life.

This blog is about my journey and experiences in Second Life. My meeting people, trying new things and growing not just as an Avatar, but as a person, both in Second Life and also in the real world.

I would greatly appreciate your company on this journey as I share my thoughts, ideas, dreams, and experiences.

I am very new to Second Life... I was born into Second Life on August 14th 2009. At the present time, I have only a couple of people saved as friends... and have only visited a few places.

I know in time, my Avatar will change in appearance, as it was the "starter" avatar; hopefully it will soon begin to reflect my personality, and my Personal Appearance.

So once again I ask you to join me in this most unsual yet Amazing Journey into the ONLINE / INTERNET world which is known as SECOND LIFE.
